Thoom Politics and Social Structure

Political structure: A Council of Elders rule the land by collecting taxes

from its members. Each large, noble family has one representative. This is

largely inherited, but membership can be revoked if the family goes broke.

It can be granted to exceptional individuals.

 

Social Structure: A cast system has developed. The nobility rules. The

middle class consists mainly of artisans working for the noble families.

The lower class has little skills are looked down upon. The middle class

and lower class can rise in the ranks if they have sufficient artistic

skills.

The Thoom Historical Timeline is our best guess at reconstructing Thoomish history. The Ascendancy has done much to cloud our minds with rubbish and obfuscate the truth.
