The sudden disappearance of the G'Nonth outpost in 2405 BA was considered by many to be the final symbolic defeat of the Zoran Council - the great historical value of the outpost, combined with its symbolic importance as the key of the Lok-ai-Zo defenses, had a drastically demoralizing effect on the supporters of the Council.

The disappearance of the outpost has still not been fully explained; thorough investigation has not revealed any evidence of a portal near the site, and no magic capable of such a large scale destruction or transport has yet been discovered.  The currently popular theory holds that the vanishing was the result of Nilaxan experiments with the portals, perhaps with the aim of directing their power, though there is no significant prove for or against this theory.
