3 - Battle of Aethry Crossing

Two days ride to the west of The Capital, where the Brimwon river joins the Aethry lies the bridge known as 'Aethry Crossing'.

This was a very important river crossing in its time and still is today.

Terrain:

To the east and west of this area the Aethry runs wide and slow, but here it has cut through some ancient low hills and runs relatively fast and narrow. Just west of the bridge the Brimwon joins the Aethry amid a chaos of shoals and deep channels.

The bridge is surrounded mostly by low grassy hills, but a number of old forests also exist near the river. The lands to the north and south are primarily grassy savanna well above the level of the river.

Bridge:

The original bridge was an ancient stone and wood structure with a very wide and long wooden center span. This is much different from the stone span that exists there today.

Roads:

Four roads lead from the bridge. The road south leads to Khorobil and forks to Rosyaye. The road east leads to The Capital, Liranth and Fosner. The road north leads into Brimoa. The road west leads to Rosyaye and a ferry crossing the Aethry into Sul.
